Everett Milton Durrell Jr., 73, of North Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
Born on March 23, 1953, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Everett Milton Durrell Sr. and Rita Marie (Varin) Durrell. He was also the beloved older brother of the late Philip Durrell.
Everett is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Perry) Durrell of North Providence; his loving children, Everett Michael Durrell and his wife, Rebecca, of North Providence, Julie Ann Girard of Chepachet; and his stepson, Jon J. Bano of Tampa, Florida. He was the proud Grandfather of Alexzondria Lynee' Durrell, Everett Michael Durrell Jr., and Sean Bagdanovich.
He is also survived by his sisters, Aurora Young of Virginia and Judith LaPre of North Smithfield. He shared a special bond with his niece, Lindsay (Durrell) Scorpio, who lived with him for many years and whom he helped raise. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he adored.
Everett spent much of his life working as a furniture mover for Beany & Sons Movers in Providence before becoming a licensed plumber. He worked for F.G. Lees Plumbing & Heating in Providence for many years until health issues forced him to leave the trade. He later became a bartender and bar manager at the Greystone Social Club in North Providence, where he was also a longtime member before retiring.
In his spare time, Everett loved waking up to his breakfast of champions, spending time with his friends at the Greystone, fishing, camping, and enjoying the companionship of his beloved dogs, Charlie and Em. Above all, he treasured time with his family, especially at family gatherings where he was affectionately known as "the dancing man" and was always the life of the party.
Everett will be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and touched countless lives through his kindness and friendship. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, courage, laughter, loyalty, and unconditional love that will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Mass celebrating Everett's life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Cranston, Rhode Island. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life well lived.
