Evelyn French

French, Evelyn (Raposa), 85, of Smithfield, passed away on June 18, 2013 surrounded by those who loved her. She was the wife of the late J. Earl French. Born in Somerset, MA on May 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Correia) Raposa. She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted children, Sheila A. Porter in NJ and Raymond T. French in RI. She also leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister, Irene Zarski and Kenneth, Robert and Craig French in RI. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Michael, and Charles Raposa and Lorraine McCaffrey.
Evelyn enjoyed traveling, the ocean, lobsters, bingo, and playing cards with her family and friends. Before her retirement, she was employed as a shift supervisor at Fram Corp. in East Providence. Services were private
