Evelyn A. Dolan

Evelyn A. Dolan (Mello), 94, formerly of Smithfield, died on May 27, 2024 at St. Antoine’s Residence.   She was the wife of the late Robert W. Dolan, Sr.  Born in Smithfield, she was the daughter of the late William and Lydia (Barboza) Mello.

For most of her career, Evelyn worked with children and became a mother-figure to them.  She loved going out to eat and to the casino.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey R. Dolan and Robert W. Dolan, Jr., four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her companion, Joe Falvo, and her longtime friend, Shirley LaCroix.  She was the sister of the late Manuel and John Mello.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 from 8:30-9:30 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
