Eugene “Gino” Joseph Procaccianti, 79, of North Providence, RI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and sons, on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Sarah L. (Drummond) Procaccianti. Gino was born in Providence, RI to Gloria (Gauthier) Procaccianti and Julio “Andy” Procaccianti on June 20, 1946.
As a young boy, Gino and his family resided in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Providence. Gino also considered Harrisville, RI his home, as he spent lots of time there with his local family throughout his life. Gino was educated in the Providence public school system and finished his education at North Bennett Street School in Boston’s North End, where he studied cabinet-making.
Gino enlisted in the US Army in 1965 and served until he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1967. Gino then finished his military career with the National Guard. After Gino finished his service with the National Guard, he joined the Laborers International Union of North America, Local 271, where he was a faithful laborer for over 4 decades, taking part in major infrastructure projects across the Northeast, like The Big Dig and construction of the Providence Place Mall. Gino retired from the Union in 2020.
A friend to all, Gino was always up for good conversation, particularly over a fresh cup of coffee and Stella D’oro cookies (or whatever else was around — Gino loved to eat). Gino also enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family, where he loved to investigate the natural world around him. Remaining to cherish Gino’s memory are his loving wife, Sarah; his four children, Eugenia Ann, Carl, Michael, and Luca; his brother, Raymond; two grandchildren; and countless other family and friends. Gino is predeceased by his brothers, Dennis and Ronald; his father, Julio; and his mother, Gloria.
Visitation will be held for Gino on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 1-4pm at Elliott Robbins Funeral Home in North Providence, RI. Donations in Gino’s honor can be made to the HopeHealth Hospice.
