Mainelli, Edward Nicholas, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 19, 2016. He was the son of the late Albert John and Mary (Bertone) Mainelli, Sr. Edward was born in and a lifelong resident of Providence, mostly at the family home on Leah Street in Mount Pleasant.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy Triantafellow and her husband Harry, brothers, Leo Mainelli and his wife Lita, Michael Mainelli and his wife Jill, Albert Mainelli, Jr. Esq. and his wife Madelyn.

He loved his nieces and nephews, Maria, Andrea, Peter, Christina, Benjamin, Jonathon, Dana, Amy, Ellen, and Peter. He was also very close to their children, Andrea, Jennifer, Christian, Michael, Anna, Julia, Grace, Clare, Parker, Will, Garrett and Abby. He loved his family and would tell you so at every opportunity.

Edward spent most of adult life living in the Mainelli family home with additional residents, under the ownership and supervision of the Fogarty Center of North Providence. His activities included participation in the Special Olympics by competing in baseball and running. He also loved Bocce and bowling. He was an ardent Red Sox and Providence College Basketball fan and could be counted on to express "high fives" when his team won or "thumbs down" when they lost.

Ed was a member of Best Buddies in conjunction with students from Providence College and Brown University. He volunteered at Providence Waterfire Events with friends from the Fogarty Center.

Ed will be remembered by all who knew him for his extensive knowledge of popular music and his expertise on the Beatles history. His warm handshake, ready smile, and love of social activities will be missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours Thursday, June 23rd from 5-8 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 24th at 11 am in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., North Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fogarty Center, 220 Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence, RI 02911.
