Edith Amitrano

Amitrano, Edith P. (Preite), 91, died May 30, 2017 at the home of her daughter. She was the wife of the late Frank B. Amitrano. Born in East Providence, she was a daughter of the late Carmelo and Josephine (Barbuscio) Preite.

Edith worked as a CNA at Heritage Hills and Hopkins Manor. Later, she worked as a bookkeeper at Highland Memorial Park.

She is survived by four children, Robert Amitrano and his wife Cheryl, Kathleen Swanson and her husband Matt, Joanne LaRose and her husband Ed, and Michael Amitrano and his wife Lorraine, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six siblings, Josephine L’Europa, Yolanda Martino, Vicky LaMoia, Angie DuPont, Theresa Sousa, and Michael Preite.

Visitation will be held Saturday 8:15-9:15 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Robert’s Food Closet.
