Earl Newman

Newman, Earl K., 89, of Newman Ave, died January 24, 2010. He was the husband of the late Evelyn B. (LaPointe) Newman. A lifelong resident of Johnston, he was a son of the late Walter C. and Harriet H. (Kimball) Newman.

Mr. Newman was a dairyman and the owner of the former Newman's Dairy, a three generation family business until 1963. He then worked for Pippin Orchard Dairy, F. J. Newman Sheet Metal Co., and Centerdale Sign Co. before retiring. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII.

Earl was the father of Alana D. Holt (Dennis) of Rothschild, WI, Brenda L. Newman Richards of West Warwick, Earl K. Newman, Jr. (Karen) of Glocester, Kenneth B. Newman (Joyce) of Morton, IL, Carlene B. Newman of Scituate, and Keith J. Newman of Foster, 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was brother of the late Walter C. Newman, Jr. and Dorothy N. Hawes, and father-in-law of the late Roger D. Richards, Sr.

His funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Calling Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
