Dennis J. "Pete" Desjarlais

Dennis J. “Pete” Desjarlais, 80, died on June 21, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the loving husband of 58 years to Janice A. (Norton) Desjarlais.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Leon and Evelyn (Herard) Desjarlais.

Pete worked for the Fram Corporation for 18 years.  He later worked as a real estate broker for CD Puleo Realty.

He was the cornerstone of his entire family, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kristi Kasanovich, Staci Chadwick, and Michelle Mousseau and her husband Michael, nine grandchildren, Daniel, Julia, Jessica, Alex, Dennis “DJ”, Lauren, Madison, Michael Jr., and Max, his sister, Louise Clement, and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.  He was the brother of the late Gilbert, William, and Robert Desjarlais, Yvonne Giacobbi, and Valerie Tongue.

This family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Rhode Island Hospital Bridge Unit, ICCU for taking wonderful care of Pete.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26th from 9:00-10:15 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence.  Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hasbro Children’s Hospital at https://giving.lifespan.org/Hasbro/Donate
