Denise E. Simmons (DeJardin), 73, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the HopeHealth Hospice Center. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Josephine (Carbone) DeJardin. She loved animals, ice cream, days at the ocean, true crime shows, Tom Brady's New England Patriots, Salem in October, time with her family, and the blues--especially Janis Joplin.

Denise is survived by her children, Eric DeJardin (Missy), Jamie Simmons, and Stephanie Zonfrilli, six grandchildren, Dylan, Robert, Kiara, Daisha, Brianna, and William, her step-grandson, Keagon Renaud, two great-grandchildren, Amalia and Amari, and her sister, Cheryl Kocon (Mark). An animal lover, she is also survived by her Yorkie, Chewbacca, and her cockatiel, Josie. Her daughter, Stacy Ann Simmons and her dog, Lulu, preceded her in death.

Visitation for Denise will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 10 am – 12 pm, followed by a prayer service at 12 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will be private.
