Debra A. Melvin (Smith), 69, of North Providence, passed away on August 11, 2026 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Melvin, Sr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth A. and Ethel M. Smith.

Debra was a dedicated homemaker and mother for most of her life. She was very laidback, enjoying listening to old country music and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Edward A. Melvin, Jr., Rickie A. Melvin, Jamie A. Melvin, and McKayla A. Melvin, five grandchildren, Madisyn, Edward, Milana, Evan and Jamie, Jr., her siblings, Roy Smith, Mary Creighton, Daniel Smith, Kathleen Garneau, and Leonard Smith, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William, Kenneth, Richard, and Frederick Smith and Marion Vickers as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 10 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield. Calling hours Monday 5-8 pm.
