Deborah A. Charbonneau, 60, of North Providence, passed peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of North Providence, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Rita (Garneau) Charbonneau.
Deborah was a graduate of Katharine Gibbs School and had worked for AAI of North Providence and FGX in Smithfield. Deb was an avid bowler, first at the Hearthside, and then at Town Hall Lanes. An animal lover, she adored her dogs, Sport and Mookie. She spent summers at her aunt’s camp on Spring Lake in Burrillville. She also was a lifelong traveler, vacationing with her parents and sister as a child and more recently with her friends from work. Deborah loved watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and she and her mother were the biggest fans at her sister’s softball games. Deborah always wanted to fly, and now she’s flying with the angels.
She is survived by her devoted sister, Ann Marie Mostecki and her husband Dennis, with whom she lived; her godmother, Gloria St. Amant; several cousins, Kathy Foulke, Marilyn and Jacqueline Gilligan, Wayne Morrissey, Ann Carol Belanger, and Ellen Williams; close family friends, Kathy, Patricia, and James Collins, Daniel Castillo, and the late William Collins; and her close friends, Joan Fisher, Jannette Rebello, Linda Pereira, Gina Desrosiers, and Renee D’Amico, as well as her friends from work. She was the granddaughter of the late Lydia Garneau and goddaughter of the late Joseph Morrissey.
The family would like to thank HopeHealth Hospice for their compassionate care in Deborah’s final days.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Augustine Church, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, attendees are invited to bring a memento or photo to place with Deborah.
