Obituary

David M. Shadoian, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on October 26, 1956, in Providence to the late Richard and Shirley (Stoddard) Shadoian.

David’s career began as a mechanic, a trade that equipped him with skills and knowledge that would serve him well throughout his life. He later became an iron worker for Priggen Steel until his retirement. David was not only known for his work ethic but also for his warmhearted personality. He was truly the life of the party, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His friends were numerous and his kindness is fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

An avid cook, David took great pride in hosting his family for every holiday, often filling his home with laughter (he was a known prankster), delicious food, and wonderful memories. His devotion to family was apparent, as he guided his son through Troop 9, Harmony, onto becoming an Eagle Scout. He was especially proud of his granddaughters, Isabelle and Lillian, with whom he shared a deep bond. He visited his son frequently, helping him with whatever he needed, giving him the opportunity to spend time with his granddogs.

David's interests were varied; he cherished time spent in his truck, enjoyed camping, and loved vacations at the beach. He also had a passion for gardening, taking great joy in planting beautiful flowers throughout his yard. Christmas held a special place in his heart, and he was known to go all out in decorating his yard during the holiday season. As a longtime member of the Greystone Social Club, David forged lasting friendships that enriched his life.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Debra (Reynolds) Shadoian; his son, David Richard Shadoian, and daughter-in-law, Charlene; as well as his granddaughters, Isabelle and Lillian. He is also survived by his siblings: Richard C. Shadoian, John Shadoian, Patricia Taylor, Edward Shadoian, Kathy Graham, and Peter Shadoian, along with many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

David's life will be celebrated with visiting hours on Saturday, January 3, 2025 from 4-7 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HopeHealth Hospice.
