David W. Allen

March 7, 1957 — January 21, 2024

Smithfield

David W. Allen, 66, formerly of Smithfield, died on Sunday, January 21, 2024.  He was the former husband of Diane (Corsi) Allen.  Born in Long Beach, CA, he was the son of the late A. Donald and Mary (Coleman) Allen. David is survived by a host of family including siblings, cousins, in-laws, and nieces and nephews who knew him as Uncle Woody.

David was a union bricklayer before retiring.  He enjoyed NASCAR and being on the water on his boat, "Ashley Dee".  Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as "Pop Pop".

In addition to Diane, he is survived by two children, Ashley D. Corriveau and her husband, Keith, and David A. Allen and his wife, Amanda;  four grandchildren, Cameron A. Corriveau, Ellyana M. Corriveau, Madisyn H. Allen, and Nicholas J. Allen.

In times of loss, the support of loves ones is truly invaluable. His children extend their heartfelt gratitude to Denise Gilchrist, his loving sister in law for her compassionate care and assistance in helping look after David during this difficult time.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 29th from 4-7 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, with a prayer service at 6:45 pm.  Burial will be private.
