Carolyn E. Snell

Carolyn E. Snell, 77, of Smithfield, passed on September 17, 2023. She was the wife of the late David R. Snell, who she was married to for 59 years prior to his passing. Born in Providence, she was the first born child of the late Joseph and Shirley Houle.

Carolyn was family-oriented, helping to raise her grandchildren, who were her “whole heart”.  She was fun-loving, an avid Elvis Presley and New England Patriots fan. She loved traveling, dancing, and drinking wine, but most importantly spending time with her family that she loved so much.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lori (Snell) Arias, Lisa (Snell) Parrillo and her husband John Parrillo. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Alexandria Trinque and her husband Tim, John Parrillo Jr and his girlfriend Alyssa, David Parrillo and his fiancé Isabella, and Jenna Parrillo in addition to four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Trinque, Angel, Dadriana, and Ava. She was so loved by her family and will be deeply missed. She also leaves behind her siblings, Debra Ciotola, Thomas Houle, Donna Houle, and Nancy Jeranka, and her longtime friends, Lorraine and George Shepard who were like family to her.

Special thank you to The Holiday Retirement Home and Beacon hospice staff, especially Amie to whom Carolyn and her family could never thank enough. Her funeral will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023, with visitation from 9-10am, followed by 10 am service at the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics RI, 370 George Washington Highway, Smithfield, RI 02917.
