Carolyn J. Alsfeld

January 25, 1939 — June 16, 2025

Smithfield

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carolyn Joyce (Webster) Alsfeld (86) of Smithfield, Rhode Island, on June 16, 2025. Carolyn was born to parents Joseph S.W. Webster and Annie Elizabeth (Woolhouse) Webster. Carolyn had four siblings, Marion, Raymond, Gladys, and Beverly. She was the loving and devoted wife of Roy Cartier Alsfeld who preceded her in death. Carolyn had three children, Kathi Marshall (with husband Phil), Lori Lucero (with husband Toby), and Tim Alsfeld (with wife Sherri). She is survived by her grandchildren: Tom Baker, Billy Cartier, Melanie Baker, Mark Alsfeld, Adam Carroll, Andrew Carroll, Preston Lucero, Shaylah Lucero, Jesse Alsfeld, and Crystal Alsfeld. Carolyn was also blessed with sixteen great grandchildren that she adored.

Carolyn was born in Warwick, Rhode Island, on January 25, 1939. After graduating Warwick Veteran’s Memorial High School, she worked for Amica Insurance Company; she later worked for the Warwick Beacon as a typesetter for many years. After retiring from the Beacon, Carolyn assisted Roy behind the scenes managing the family business, M.N. Cartier Brothers, until they both retired to sunny Florida. Roy and Carolyn had a beautiful home with plenty of land to enjoy with their dogs who they spoiled and loved tremendously. They loved to travel in their RV, visiting with family and friends all over the United States.

Carolyn always put others first and served everyone around her in her life selflessly without expecting anything in return. She was a kind, generous, patient, compassionate and loving person. She will truly be missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

Carolyn’s funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 9:30 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will follow, as Roy’s ashes join Carolyn in their final resting place in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston, Rhode Island. Together again for eternity.
