Caroline Loader

Loader, Caroline D. Peterson, 100, of North Providence, died on Thursday, November 8, 2018 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Laurence E.M. Loader. Born in Providence, Carol was the daughter of the late Henry and Lucy (Macconnell) Peterson.

As a young woman, Carol loved to dance and performed professionally in Providence and New York City. Her specialty was acrobatic dance.

Carol was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and Mathewson St. United Methodist Church, where she volunteered at the Friday Night Soup Kitchen for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over fifty years. She graduated with honors from the University of Rhode Island, Class of 2000, at the age of eighty-two. Carol was employed by the former Cherry & Webb Company for over thirty years as supervisor of ladies’ sportswear.

Caroline is survived by her daughter, Lauren M. Loader, of North Providence, her sister, Lucy M. Reale of Sterling, MA, her brother, John E. Peterson, of Lincoln, and many beloved family members and friends. She was sister to the late Benjamin, Henry, and David Peterson and Grian Brenner.

Carol was a loving, kind, and cheerful soul. Despite her own health challenges, her optimistic spirit continued to shine and inspire others.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 17th from 9-10:30 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Requiem Eucharist at 11 am in St. James Episcopal Church (handicap accessible), 474 Fruit Hill Ave, North Providence, RI 02911. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
