Lewis, Byron W. "Bud", 79, of North Providence, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Lois A. (Williamson) Lewis. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Byron W. and Marion (Annis) Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was a customer service representative for the former Providence Gas Company, now National Grid, before retiring. Previously, he was a police officer for the City of Providence for 11 years. He was a US Marine Corps veteran.

Besides his wife, Byron leaves a son, Mark S. Lewis of Wakefield, two daughters, Dr. Beth Lewis of Cranston and Karen Capraro and her husband Anthony of North Providence, grandchildren Elizabeth and Olivia Capraro, Jillian and Jonathan Lewis, and Grace, his granddog. He was the brother of Beverly Lauterbach, Nancy Sabitoni, and the late Marion Bergeron.

Byron's funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:45 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 10 AM in Grace Church, 175 Mathewson St, Providence. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Grace Church or Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904.
