Betty Smith

Smith, Betty (Jowett), 86, of Greenville, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late Jack E. Smith. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Rotheray) Jowett.

Betty was a bookkeeper for the Bradford-Sutcliffe Insurance Agency for 30 years before retiring.

She leaves her son, Lee E. Smith and his wife Jackie of Greenville, three grandsons, Adam, Joshua, and Jordan Smith, and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves lifelong friends, Irene Forgue, Carol Mason, Shirley Reese, and Olive Sutcliffe.

Betty's funeral will be held Friday at 9:45 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 11 AM in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1 Smith Ave, Greenville. Burial will be in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Calling hours are Thursday 5-8 PM.
