Barbara Louise (Henry) Muniz, age 87, passed away quietly and peacefully on the morning of August 7, 2026. She was born in North Providence, RI, on December 11, 1938, and lived there for many years.

She served her country in the U.S. Army during the late 1950’s as a typist and was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class (PFC) in 1959. Barbara worked as a secretary in downtown Providence, walking three miles to get to work.

Barbara was proud of her Scottish heritage and her ties to Native American culture. She was a friend to many and generously shared her caring nature, easy laughter, wisdom, common sense, and good advice to friends and family of all ages. She had a deep faith in the Lord that kept her going through the challenges she faced.

Barbara enjoyed music, singing in the church choir at the United Presbyterian Church, the Church of the Messiah, and at Grace Church in Providence, RI, reading on her Kindle, coloring, and crafting. Barbara will be dearly missed by her close friends and family.

Barbara did not have any children or grandchildren but is survived by her cousins and friends.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Muniz; her sister Peggy; her parents, Ella and Peter Henry; and her dear friend Don.
