Austin H. Livesey

Austin H. Livesey, 95, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at his son’s home in Smithfield on August 17, 2025. Born on September 11, 1929, in Providence, he was a proud US Navy veteran who served during the Korean Conflict, exemplifying courage and dedication to his country.

For three decades, Austin was a Shop Steward at the Greystone Social Club. Additionally, he worked as a delivery driver for Twigs Florist and spent many years at Universal Carloading, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to service. Austin was known not only for his professional dedication but also for his rich personal life filled with hobbies and interests. He was an avid stamp collector from the age of eleven, enjoyed making jigsaw puzzles, had a passion for driving, and loved going on cruises.

Austin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ethel (Russell) Livesey, his mother, Doris (Martin) Livesey, his father, William J. Livesey, Jr., and his sister, Jean Shea. He is survived by his six loving children: James Livesey, Esther MacDonald, Susan Beauchemin, Robert Livesey, Mary Amoroso, and George Livesey. Austin's legacy continues through his twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by burial with military honors in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
