Arline M. Proulx

Arline M. Proulx, 95, of Georgiaville passed away on August 23, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edgar J. Proulx for 70 years. Born in North Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frederic and Fabiola (Octeau) Blanchard. 

 Her first job was at Esmond Mills, famous for the Esmond Mills “Bunny Blanket”, where she met and married her beloved Edgar. She continued working throughout her lifetime at various manufacturing jobs before retiring after 25 years from General Electric Base Plant in Providence. In retirement, they traveled extensively throughout the United States and the world. She also lovingly spent quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 Arline is survived by her loving children: Karen King of Foster; Michael Proulx and his wife Connie of Lafayette, CO; Diane Collins of Johnston; and Susan Gentile and her husband Raymond of Smithfield. She was the proud grandmother of Jennifer Smith and her husband Allen, Christopher Pacejo and his wife Jaclyn, Katherine King, Natalie Proulx, Elaine Proulx and Dimitry Gentile, and was great-grandmother of Jordan, Joseph, and Avery Smith.

 She is survived by her sister, Suzanne Blanchard, and was the sister of the late Gloria Paquette, Roger Blanchard, Claire Raymond and Dennis Blanchard.

 Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, August 27, at Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence from 4-7 PM. Her funeral will be on Wednesday, August 28 from the funeral home at 9 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston.
