Arlene Martin

Arlene A. Martin, 91, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 in Melbourne, Florida.  She was the wife of the late Horace Martin and the late Ernest Smith.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Leonel and Rachel Girouard.

Mrs. Martin was a large appliance saleswoman for Sears for many years before retiring.

She is survived by her three children, Joseph Smith and his wife Susan of Florida, Kimberly Martin and her fiancé Steven Cannon of Kentucky, and William Martin and his wife Carly of Florida.  She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Zachary, Richard, Ethan, Taylor, and Alyssa.  She was the sister of the late Leonel Girouard Jr.

Arlene lived a life full of love for her family.  She also loved animals of every kind, having had horses, a goat, a pig and multiple dogs and cats over her many years.  In her later years, Arlene took up ballroom dancing that she enjoyed whole-heartedly.  The memory of her with her many costumes, beautiful outfits, and dance routines will help the family to smile going forward.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 27 th from 10-11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by burial in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
