Alice Houde

August 21, 1920 — October 30, 2006

Houde, Alice M., 86, of Wolf Hill Rd., died November 1st at home. She was the wife of Raymond J. Houde Sr.

Born in Nasonville, she was a daughter of Louis and Amelia (La Bonte) Proulx. She had lived in Smithfield for 55 years.

Alice loved to sew and crochet.

Besides her husband, she leaves seven sons, William J. Proulx Sr. of White County, TN, Raymond J. Houde Jr. of Cumberland, Ernest A. Houde Sr. of Johnston, Donald L. Houde of Smithfield, Gary P. Houde of Killingly, CT, Michael R. Houde of Howland, ME, and Edward A. Houde Sr. of North Smithfield; 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Louise Thibodeau of East Douglas, MA and Ora Thibodeau in North Carolina. She was sister of the late Alfred Proulx and Rita Lapierre.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 am from the ROBBINS FUNERAL HOME, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Michael Church. Visitation Sunday 4-7 pm. Burial in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917.
