Agnes Grimes

Grimes, Agnes R., 92, of North Providence, died on January 24, 2022 at Golden Crest Nursing Centre.   She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Grimes, Sr.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Gabriela (Marotta) DeSimone.

Agnes retired from Our Lady of Fatima Hospital after many years of service in the X-Ray Department.

She is survived by five children, William G. Grimes of Cumberland, James P. Grimes of North Providence, Deborah L. Procopio of Foster, Sheila A. Murphy of Warwick, and Mary E. Grimes of Los Angeles, CA, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  She was the mother of the late John F. Grimes, Joseph F. Grimes, Jr. and Paul A. Grimes and sister of the late Anna DiDonato and Beatrice Angell.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 27th at 11 am in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Wounded Warriors Project.
